Ministry Biography

Dr. Doris Henderson, known as “Pastor D”, operates as the Pastor of Kingdom Family Worship Center, located in Fredericksburg, VA. She is one who walks with kingdom authority, an anointed woman of God in this hour, called to the shepherding of the people of God, the execution and directing of church operations, and the management of administration. Pastor D serves compassionately, dedicated to the advancing of the Kingdom Agenda, giving her all to kingdom service and to the building of ministries that are intended to effectively leave a lasting impact as the church. She is a believer in the power of prayer, stands firm in faith, preaches the need for souls to be saved and filled with the Holy Spirit, and refuses to play games with the enemy. Pastor D takes her assignment of serving the people of God in leadership very seriously, knowing that God strengthens a pastor serving according to His heart. Pastor D has a sincere desire to feed the people of God with knowledge and understanding, guiding them in the ways of the Lord.

Pastor D is celebrating over forty years of marriage with Bishop Joseph D. Henderson, Sr. They have four children: Danielle, Ashley, Joseph, Jr., and Benjamin. They have seven grandchildren: David, J. Daniel, Jeremiah, Lillian, Laila, Brielle Joy, and Lewis Ray. A family that prays together, stays together. This is indeed a family called to kingdom service, embracing the call to ministry, surrendering gifts, talents, and assignments back to God, that He may receive all of the Glory.

Pastor D, growing up in church, served in ministry along with her parents and siblings, answering the simple call to serve the Lord at an early age. Years later, this call to simply serve the Lord, turned into an urgent call into ministry. Since this call, she has continued faithfully in service to the Kingdom of God, using her gifts and talents to serve in various capacities of the church. She brings a lifetime of experience to the table and has served in many areas of ministry development. After many years of experiential learning through church and community engagement, she received an honorary Doctor of Divinity Degree from Shiloh Theological Seminary.

Pastor D has established Women of Distinction Ministry, which is designed to instruct, educate, and inspire women to soar. She indeed has a burden for the women, young ladies, single mothers, women in ministry, etc., desiring to see them whole, healed, empowered, and developed. Women of all different backgrounds have been blessed and positively impacted by her ministry. Continuing in Kingdom Service, she has spent much time and labor in developing the ministries of the church, training and placing leaders for kingdom service, and creating strategies for effective church operations. In addition to administration and development, she is known for her unique preaching style, seemingly quiet, but truly on fire and full of power.

Pastor D is a Coach for the Kingdom Fellowship Network, established in 2018, summiting leaders together for coaching, development, empowerment, resources, fellowship, and networking.

Pastor D is the Co-Founder and Program Director of The Family Life Center, established with a mission to address the needs of the community at large, purposed for outreach and community engagement. As a visionary for programming, she has made, and continues to make, many effective contributions to the services rendered in engaging culture and impacting the surrounding communities. She is tasked in the developing of holistic programs that strengthen family, assist at-risk youth, and build community. Some programs developed include affordable summer camp programs, after school Homework Help programs, senior craft and exercise gatherings, clothing and food assistance programs, and community fellowship meals.

As a community leader, Pastor D has previously served on the board for Habitat for Humanity, which selects families who would like to go from rental property to home ownership. She also served on the Fredericksburg Mental Health Association. In addition to ministry workshops, Pastor D conducts seminars and workshops which promote family, collaboration, community outreach initiatives, effective non-profit programming, etc. Considering her commitment and outstanding service to the community, Pastor D was named an Ambassador of Peace in September 2006.

Pastor D has also been successful in launching Doris Dezigns, a business that caters events, hosts banquets and weddings, and develops unique event logistics, all with creative, custom designs.

From church, to community, to business, Pastor D is dedicated wholeheartedly to Kingdom Service, making serving God and being true to ministry her priority. As one who is highly respected by many, Pastor D, humbly walks with power, preaches to the saving of souls, loves the people of God, and stands boldly in her faith, daily in pursuit of fulfilling her kingdom assignment. She is an anointed vessel, called to lead the people of God to victory and is set apart for such a time as this. Pastor D has submitted her life to kingdom service and advancing the Kingdom Agenda of God.
